Privacy
Updated October 24, 2026
Hickory Locks is a small, private football club. We keep only what it takes to run it, and we don’t sell or rent anything about you to anyone.
What we keep
- Your account. Your email address and sign-in details, and the date you confirmed you’re 21 or older.
- Your conversations with Hickory. Chat history, plus the short notes he remembers between chats, like your favorite teams. You can see and clear those notes from the chat screen at any time.
- Your activity in the club. Your tails and fades, docket votes, the board name you choose, and your email preferences.
- Email records. Which club emails were sent to you, and whether one bounced or was marked as spam.
What we don’t do
No advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, or session recording. Our emails don’t track opens or clicks. The only cookies keep you signed in, plus one that carries a Settings error message back to the page and expires after a minute. There’s nothing for sale here, so we never handle payment details.
Who else handles it
We rely on a few service providers, each limited to its own job:
- Clerk runs accounts and sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the site, and Neon hosts the database.
- AI model providers, currently OpenAI and Anthropic through Vercel’s AI Gateway, write Hickory’s replies. Your messages and his notes about you are sent to them to do that. When Hickory looks something up, a web search provider (currently Perplexity) receives the search, which can draw on what you asked.
- Resend sends the emails you’ve opted into.
Their own privacy policies govern how they handle that data. Please don’t put anything in a chat you wouldn’t want a service provider to process.
What other members see
Your chats are private. If you choose a board name, it appears on the members’ board with your tails, fades, and record, both in the club and in the Monday recap email.
Your choices
- Turn either email off in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Clear Hickory’s notes about you from the chat screen.
- Ask the host for a copy of your data, or to delete your account and everything tied to it.
We keep your data while your account exists, and delete it when you ask.
Age
The club is for adults 21 and older. If we learn someone younger has signed up, we delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions go to the host.
